Next week is maternal mental health awareness week (April 30-May 5). As a licensed master social worker and a new mom, I think it’s extremely important to keep it real about mental health and motherhood! Motherhood is the most beautiful journey but it isn’t always easy! @thebluedotprj will host a week long social media campaign & they’re asking mothers across the country to get real about motherhood by posting photos and updating their social media statuses with images and posts that show the real face of motherhood. Images can be light-hearted or serious. Use the hashtags #realmotherhood and #noshame when sharing your photos! In light of maternal mental health awareness week, I wrote a blog post on the difference between postpartum depression and the baby blues. Check it out at www.raeofsun.blog!
